Reports To: Tool & Die Supervisor

Summary:  Responsible for constructing, repairing and maintaining machine tools and dies in conformance with their individual specifications for production.

​

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Responsible for repairing and maintaining machine tools and dies

• Involved with operating a wire EDM machine

• Responsible for constructing new tools and dies as needed

• Involved with verifying conformance of machined or repaired dies to drawing specifications by checking dimensions, clearances and alignments

• Trouble shooting die problems during production

• Keep work area clean and clear of debris

• Follow company’s safety policies and procedures

• Perform other duties as requested by supervisor

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Post-Secondary education in tool and die field or minimum 5yrs. experience as a tool and die maker

• Knowledge of basic math, basic to intermediate computer knowledge and skills

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

• Ability to work effectively with co-workers, supervisors and staff

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

• Able to adapt to changing work needs and expectations

Working Conditions:

Manufacturing working environment.  Temperatures will range from 50 to 85 degrees.  The noise level is usually loud and ear protection may be required.
